Besides the fact that AEGs (particularly Ver 2 gearboxes all you Armalite fans), hop-ups, and batteries have a tough time in the winter. I still remember the odd noises my M16 was making at one of our winter games two years ago ...

my main point s everyone says yea ill play. it may be easy for you guys to just say screw it but for me i re arrange scheduals with my wife on house stuff and taking care of my kid. i go thru that stuff to make time to play and no one shows up or even decides to call. i was at the field for an hour before i even got a call back. dont commit to a game if you arent going to show upits screwed me over the past few times.

This forum should be used properly for game scheduling. That is, post the game with the simple who, where, when information. There's no excuse for not keeping game planning on this board updated, it should take a couple minutes maximum on the computer. I would also prefer ONE true source, i.e. this board, be the go-to place for information like this. Phone calls are unreliable if anyone hasn't noticed all ready. If anyone (particularly the game organizer) plans/decides anything on the phone it should be posted on this board as quickly as possible. I understand people will argue that this board is not frequented by the members, thus making it useless. This does NOT have to be the case - all we have to do is setup a halfass contact structure where one member can maintain contact with others he is associated with. For example, I often keep tabs on Rubino, Ryan, Andre, and Rich when a game is imminent. Even though some of these guys may check this board on their own accord, I check with them anyway. I understand people will inevitably flake out at times, but the only solution for that problem is simply a larger player pool. If we all decide that this board will remain dysfunctional regardless of my suggestions, then I strongly recommend we send mass emails concerning game information. If people still claim they have no time to check their email (as some complaints have been about this board), that is just pathetic.
In Don's case, I am not sure why he was even at any field Saturday morning. Through all this phone call nonsense the night before and that morning I understood that absolutely NO field or even an exact time had even been decided on. Why he was anywhere at some particular time makes absolutely no sense to me. Don make sure you have more than one contact and check with them immediately before the game. With this mess of organization there is no way around this.

ok maybe im in the wrong i dont know. i was at the field at 10 am the specified time i was told by brian who was in contact with me all week. brian and ed were at my house that thursday and we talked about the game saturday. we decided on the cqb field. nobody said anything at that time about not playing. ed called me friday nite to remind me he had my aeg's but not the chargers. i said no problem ill get them saturday when we play ill use my shotty and charge the guns in my car. he said ok. the next day i make a few calls to brian and ed my contacts. i got voicemails on both. i figure they were on thier way so i went to the field. i got a call from brian after sitting at the field for a while and he didnt relize he didnt have his phone with him. i didnt get a call from ed until later that day and he put me on hold and didnt call back or return my calls. i agree that a email should be sent out. lets put this shit behind us and actually play.

Remember, if we screw up anything - it shouldn't be game organization. We need to stay away from this phonetag garbage and keep everything updated here with perhaps a final mass confirmation email right before the game. Nobody should be guessing or playing with voicemail on gameday.

this is pretty much true, if two or three people ditch, it pretty much kills our morale. even trying to plan weeks ahead, people still don't seem to know how to manage their time, so it's quite annoying to me too, but i've learned to live with it over the years, and still have fun when we can. at least we don't charge money to play like some other teams when we invite them, which is a plus that people don't seem to notice much.
