if you are just starting out with an AEG and have never owned one before, UTG is the way to go. they are cheap, reliable, and if it breaks, it's easy to fix and won't cost an arm and a leg. i personally know the UTG MP5A4 inside and out.
cost: $100 Motor: TM EG1000 equivalent Battery: 8.4V NiMh @ 1100 mAh Spring: M90 Equivalent Gearbox: TM Clone Ver. 2.0 Maximum Range (.20g weight ammo) 150 ft. Effective Range (.20g weight ammo) 75 ft. Velocity: Approx. 280 fps (.20g ammo) Barrel: 6.10 ID smooth bore x 229mm length Magazine Capacity: UTG highcap 200 - 300 rounds, STAR low cap, 30 rnds. (27 effective) TM lowcap 70 rnds (67 effective) Accuracy: approx. 3x3 ft. @ 75 ft. (.20g ammo)
reccomended upgrades: 9.6V NiMh Battery @ 1100 mAh (3000 reccomended) M120 Spring 6.05x350mm tightbore barrel (with mock suppressor) upgraded spring guide, Piston, piston head, M4 cylinder, Cylinder head, M4/MP5 nozzle, 16 AWG gearbox re-wiring (fuse no longer necessary with 16 gauge wire) upgraded wire connectors, stainless steel motor plate screws, .25g ammunition. approx. velocity: 380 fps with .25g ammo

If you're going cheap: Not planning on modifying, CYMA CM027 (MP5J) or CM028 (AK47/S) Modifying, UTG MP5 or Warhawk
Normal AEGs: Tokyo Marui AK47, M14, Thompson M1A1, or New M4 (supposed to get rid of barrel wobble) Classic Army M15a4 whichever model you like, M249 for awesome

actually, there's really no more maintenance on a UTG than on a Classic Army...they both share the same parts and the same warning: just dont get it dirty or use shitty ammunition. inertia, tsunami, excel are all excellent brands of ammunition and we've never had a problem using them.

it all depends on you... if u are really rough on your gear like i am than classic army is the way to go but if u are carefuil and maintain your stuff thta go for utg or another cheaper brand
